The Daniel Owen Community Centre prides itself on welcoming and supporting Volunteers throughout the year.
As a Charity, Volunteers are crucial to continuing to run events and keep our Centre running.
We are so proud of all our staff and Volunteers as they work really hard, day in, day out.
We log the hours that all Volunteers give to us throughout the year.
Flintshire County Council Social Impact Tool Kit evidences the generation of an audited social value of these hours yearly and supports us to ensure we cover it all, and in turn shows the public and users of our Building what the impact of the Centre does for the Community on a regular basis.
Social Impact Value can also be used for match funding for future Grants in order to provide more projects or upgrading the facilities.
Year 23-24 the Social impact value to the Community was £41,852
Year 2024 - 2025 the Social Impact value to the Community is £78,316.20
That's quite an impressive number!
We do this by providing subsidised Food
Warm Hub, providing free Soup and drinks in the cold months, grant funding provided
Training Volunteers in Barista to support them in further employment
Volunteer hours working in the Café, events or other
Subsidised Room hire for low income Charities/Organisations that have used/using the Building.
Maintenance
Training Volunteers in First Aid, Fire Safety and Health & Safety
Repair Café every 3rd Thursday of the Month, providing free repairs to many household items, which prevents unnecessary landfill waste.
This is just a few things we do!
Big Thanks go to all those that have participated in any of our events and supported us through Volunteering or just being here with us and making this Community Centre yours!
Here is to another busy year doing what we do and hopefully much more!
